The Origins of L'il Sucker

Mike Adjeleian, President and CEO of L’il Sucker Products Inc., has been designing and developing products for the military and law enforcement since graduating with honours from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990.

The L’il Sucker suction ring was developed in 1999 more or less by accident. Mike was working on a totally unrelated product, using neoprene scraps. In a Eureka moment, Mike’s intended design, an aid for law enforcement officers, morphed into what is now the simple but hugely successful suction ring.

Mike joined the ASI (Advertising Specialty Institute) in March 2000 and since that time, has produced millions of L’il Sucker units for markets throughout the world.

The first L'il Suckers were produced in California. In 2001, an order of 170,000 units enabled Mike to begin operations in Ottawa. L’il Sucker moved to its present headquarters in Kemptville, Ontario in 2004. Operations have expanded to include warehouse facilities in Ogdensburg, New York and plants in Texas and China.
